At MemWine ™ we provide a service for people who enjoy wine. Perhaps one of the oldest food sources dating back thousands of years, wine in all its varietals has appealed to many populations and cultures.

Wine lovers range from the casual sipper to those who study and seek out fine wines from all over the world. Many will try a variety of wines during the year and others may sample hundreds of different wines over a lifetime. The more affluent may keep a wine cellar valued at tens of thousands of dollars. Whether you are wealthy or not, wine has a wide appeal to all who savour the many varieties of grape, vintage and region.

Most of us are not wine connoisseurs and we naturally turn to known experts, wine servers and online databases to become better educated on the subject. Or we make a trip to wine country to experience wine culture firsthand. Often we turn to friends for recommendations.

For such an enjoyable activity we should have a better way to keep our memories fresh. MemWine ™ offers such a much-needed free service and appeals to the casual as well as the dedicated wine enthusiast.

We do not pretend to be wine experts nor do we have the largest database of wines. To add depth to our site we include useful web links to wine sites with expert wine reviews and tasting notes, more extensive knowledge bases and information on how and where to buy wines. We also host a Wine Blog of the Week.

Our focus is on YOU! and our aim is to help you remember your feelings about the wines you enjoy. With a simple user interface, MemWine ™ helps you maintain a list of your favorite wines, the ones you've tried and the ones you want to try and the ones you never want to see again. Add comments and reviews, your personal ratings and the price you paid. Also keep track of your private inventory whether large or small.

At MemWine ™ you are the expert! It's your ratings which carry the most weight and your comments and reviews which will help you remember each wine long into the future.

Users have the option to add their own wines on the spot or select wines from our extensive database which continues to expand with Member input, growing dynamically and responding to Member needs.

Mobility is a fact of modern life and we offer access to your personal wine database by Mobile phone or Handheld. Having your personal wine database in the palm of your hand can save you money while shopping for wine or refresh your memory while chatting with friends about favorite wines. Wine labels vary from country to country and by winemaker but typically include: Brand/Winemaker, Grape, Vintage, Country, Region, Vineyard, appellation or other distinction

Each wine includes standard label information but Members add vintage years for wines they've tried or wish to try. This approach increases the effective size of the database to over 100,000 estimated wine/vintage combinations. Note that some wines are designated 'NV' meaning 'No Vintage'.

As an aid to Members, we also provide a price range and reference vintage for each wine to establish a common reference point. The price range is in US Dollars as follows:

As this is a global web site and prices will vary by country, exchange rate, dealer and time, the price range is meant as a ballpark estimate for reference purposes only. No buying decisions should be based on these estimates. Awards are shown for many wines and the Award year corresponds to the reference Vintage shown.
